Patrick Candelaria

Patrick Candelaria

Patrick Candelaria’s 17-year successful ride through his comedy career has been filled with laughter all the way. He has traveled over half a million miles around the world creating an adventure that includes a dozen overseas comedy tours for the United States military, over a hundred college, corporate and benefit performances, and countless comedy club appearances.

Audiences literally hold their sides and wipe away tears of laughter when Patrick gets on a roll. His story-telling style mixed liberally with quick one-liners includes topics everyone can relate to. George Lopez said Patrick is “Pound for pound, one of the funniest comics out there,” and Tommy Chong called Patrick, “A very funny Mexican”. When you see his act, you’ll see why.

Patrick’s act relates to all audiences. His start in showbiz was as a juggler and magician at an amusement park in his home town of El Paso, TX. His comedy club act has brought him to The Strip in Las Vegas where he makes an annual appearance at The Riviera Comedy Club among other clubs all over the country. His college routine has had students in New York, Florida, Texas and other states cheering at his observations and wit. Candelaria makes most of his appearances for corporations and companies who want to add something special and original to their meetings or events. Colleagues are amazed at how he can get non-stop laughs from an audience without ever going past a PG rating.

Patrick is most proud of his twelve overseas tours in the past ten years that have put him in front of thousands of Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen of the United States Military. He has entertained Officer’s Clubs in Korea and Japan, inside a C-130 hangar in Germany, and did a show inside a bunker in Iraq. He helped ring in a New Year in Sarajevo at a NATO base, spent Christmas in Kosovo and Fourth of July in Tikrit.

Patrick Has released Two full-length comedy CDs, “World’s Largest Ceiling Fan” and “Operation: Big Slow Target” available online or following one of his shows.

Patrick’s humor alone is hilariously over-the-top but for many events he can include a juggling and magic aspect of his routine that incorporates volunteers from the audience and keeps the laughs rolling.

Patrick Candelaria has his home in El Paso, Texas but lives conveniently close to the airport.

Margarita Canela

Margarita Canela

The Message Tour 2010

“The Message Tour 2010″

Featuring 4 Legendary Acts on the Same Stage

Legendary Rap/Hip Hop acts, Furious 5, Kurtis Blow, The Sugarhill Gang and Rob Base have put together a memorable Tour package that will get the party started with the Rap/Hip Hop sound that started it all.

Furious 5

The first ever rap group to be inducted into the rock & roll hall of fame!

The story of the Furious 5 Emcees is one of many firsts. These Bronx natives were the first rap artists to win Grammy awards, guest star with R&B artists (Chaka Khan with Melle Mel on “I Feel For You” in 1984), first to inject social commentary into rap, with the genre changing “The Message” in 1982, first to endorse a political candidate with the song “Jesse” in 1984, first to be inducted into the rock & roll hall of fame and the list goes on. That’s just the commercial side, after rap was released on records. Before rap was released on records they were the first to write full rhymes on the beat – unlike the nursery style that many Djs were using at the time.

Sugar Hill Gang – “Rapper’s Delight”

The Sugarhill Gang is known for introducing HipHop to the World with the First Multi- Platinum 12′ Single ” Rappers Delight ” as well as other Platinum Singles : 8th Wonder and Apache !!!!

I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie to the hip hip hop, a you dont stop the rock it to the bang bang boogie say up jumped the boogie to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat now what you hear is not a test I’m rappin to the beat and me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feet see i am wonder mike and i like to say hello to the black, to the white, the red, and the brown, the purple and yellow but first i gotta bang bang the boogie to the boogie say up jump the boogie to the bang bang boogie let’s rock, you don’t stop rock the riddle that will make your body rock well so far you’ve heard my voice but i brought two friends along and next on the mike is my man hank come on, hank, sing that song

The Sugarhill Gang is an American hip hop group, known mostly for their biggest hit, “Rapper’s Delight”, the first hip hop single recorded to become a Top 40 hit.

Kurtis Blow

One of the founders and creators of recorded rap, stands as an emerging leader in a new generation of rappers with street sense, social criticism, and commercial savvy, a timeless artist and hip hop legend, Kurtis Blow has been instrumental in raising up a generation of MCs, and he will soon carry the torch for hip hop music into new arenas. In 1979, at the age of twenty, Kurtis Blow became the first Rapper to be signed by a major label. Mercury released Christmas Rappin, and it sold over 400,000 copies and it became an annual classic. Its gold followup The Breaks helped ignite a still spreading international Rap Attack. He released 10 Albums over 11 years –

Rob Base

Best-known for his 1988 platinum hip hop classic “It Takes Two” Rob Base along with childhood friend DJ EZ Rock rode their smash hit onto R&B radio stations as well as dance clubs around the world and provided a touchstone for the style known as hiphouse.

Rob Base is one of the most popular rap stars of all time and has fans all over the world. Even though Rob Base has sold millions and millions of records, he is one of the most down to earth cats you will ever meet and that’s why his fans adore him so much.

You can hear this Year’s Oscar Winner “Sandra Bullock” singing ” it takes two ” in the Blockbuster Movie “Proposal”; as well as in the new “Snoop Dogg’s song “I Wanna Rock” !!!!

Chika

Chika

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Chika is a study in stereotypes and contrasts. Since her first steps, thanks to her musically rich Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage, she’s been in love with the rhythms of her parents Caribbean music. Her mother and uncle were both local champion Salsa dancers & Chika herself began performing in neighborhood talent shows as early as the third grade. Her early years were tainted by pain and suffering and she finds music less of a vocation and more of an outlet to release her thoughts and emotions. What might have spelled the end for many young girls was simply a new beginning for the remarkably resilient Chika.

Chika got her first break when she was introduced to Sergio George, and worked with his label, WEA Latina. She then linked up with DLG and toured Japan, Spain, Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, Honduras, and Costa Rica. She helped write, and was featured on, DLGs album “Volvere” as well as wrote and performed on “Sergio George’s live album at Manhattan Center” which featured Gilberto Santa Rosa, Sergio Vargas, and Victor Manuel. After a short lived hiatus Chika continued forward with her career and after appearing on Fragment Crew’s Album “Anything Goes” released under Univision Records she was invited by Grammy Nominated producer, Dj Napoles to be a member of the international duo ChikaMelina. The darling divas encountered much success and Chika embarked on yet another international tour. They toped the Billboard Charts with their first single “No Me Llores” and shot the video for it in Geneva Switzerland.

After much success with collaborative efforts, Chika is now releasing a MixTape presented by Fragment Muzik titled “Pa La Calle” which features her first single “Washington Heights” as well as collaborations with artists like Notch, Daddy Yankee and Fabolous along with the smash remixes of “El Amor” by Tito el Bambino & “Hasta Abajo” by Don Omar. Chika believes that music is an amazing medium in which she can express herself and convert the tears from her past into a beautiful career. “The hardships that once isolated me can connect me intimately, and universally, to many people in similar situations” says the luscious Latina. Captivating vocals over thumping tracks are her specialty and if her resilience is a testimony to her will to succeed we’ve only just begun to hear what Chika has to say.

This universal stage propels him into a variety of characters from his past, present and future as he explores his Chicano experience and roots with split-second intensity.

Grupo Sueño

Grupo Sueño

A little over 3 years in the making, DFW’s newest and hottest Tejano Band is taking North Texas by storm! Made up of 7 talented and spirited musicians, this 3 man front versitile band made a big splash in DFW in 2001.

Carl Gomez, Isaac Gonzalez, Timmy Trevino, Alvino Torres, Gabriel Gonzalez,  Matt Calderon, and Abel Casillas are the full force behind Grupo Sueno and promises to take the band to the extreme in the Tejano industry. Grupo Sueno not only specializes in Tejano, their versitality also consists of Funk, Rock, Disco, R&B, Salsa, Pop, Rock en Espanol, Conjunto, Old Skool Chicano, and Cumbiaso.

The harmonizing of 3 backup vocalists, Grupo Sueno mixes in today’s Tejano Onda with the classic sounds of the Chicano Era. Known as “The Dream Team”, Grupo Sueno does indeed have the talent to make it in the tough world of Tejano. With the key ingredients of desire, drive, focus, and the support of their families and friends, Sueno’s  “dream” will become a reality.
